The Joker 2

and Lady Gaga!

Things are getting interesting with recent Joker 2 news. Sure, it is a movie I can’t decide if I wanted a sequel for or not. You might agree that it works perfectly as a stand-alone film, but then again, it could be interesting to see more…

And then we found out It would be a musical. Something that I wasn’t expecting, but am not against. This could be a better move to go in a different direction, rather than risk delivering more of the same and possibly not as good. This franchise is clearly not supposed to be a conventional superhero one.

Oh, and don’t forget the reveal of the title: “Joker: Folie à Deux” which translates to “Madness for Two”.

We also heard that Lady Gaga has been added to the cast. Definitely not against this either, I have seen enough of her acting to know what she is capable of. If she is to play Harley Quinn to Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker we really could be in for something special. I know that Joaquin is an excellent actor but I haven’t come across his singing, if it matches his acting we will be fine! After all, he won a well-deserved Oscar for the first movie. And Lady Gaga I know to be both an excellent singer and actor.

I am very much looking forward to Joker 2. It has a lot to live up to but hopefully, it can be a great movie in its own right. I know the first one divided people, but for me, it was a great cinematic experience, and I have yet to view it from a home screen, so at some point, I’d like to get the DVD and give it a rewatch-interesting to see how it holds up on a second viewing.
